Job summary

Singer Equipment Company is hiring an experienced full-time Receiver/Back-up Delivery Driver to join our warehouse team. The role involves unloading delivery trucks, receiving freight into the computer system, and transporting orders between customer locations using box trucks.

Requirements include a CDL Class B license, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and excellent customer service. A valid DOT medical and a clean driving record are necessary, with occasional overtime to support delivery

Overview

Singer Equipment Company, the largest foodservice equipment and supplies distributor in the mid-Atlantic region, is hiring an experienced full-time Receiver/Back-up Delivery Driver to join our warehouse team.

Essential Functions

• Unloading delivery trucks
• Receiving freight into the computer system
• Drive/operate box trucks to transport orders between customer locations.
• Manually handle equipment from pallets and load to hand truck to transport customer orders into the facility.
• Utilize pallet jack to move pallets of product to and from truck to delivery location.
• Communicate with customers and/or supervisor using handheld devices.
• Conduct daily inspection of truck prior to departure.
• Manually break down freight and receive into computer system.
• Put away products utilizing powered industrial equipment.
• Perform tasks in a safe manner and comply with company policies and procedures.
• Proactively identify and report workplace hazards.
• Periodic use of hand and power tools.
• Assist with warehouse activities when a delivery route is not scheduled
• Overtime required as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• Work a varied schedule to ensure delivery of product to customers (dayshift hours but may include early mornings and/or late evenings.)
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, reach, squat and bend during an assigned shift.
• Possess and maintain a CDL Class B License
• Must possess or be able to obtain a real ID
• Clean driving history
• Pass and maintain DOT Medical and Physical Examination and other clearances
• Excellent Customer Service and communication skills
• Basic Math/Reading Skills
• 6 months driving (Class B) experience required
• Able to follow predetermined routing/directions
• Works well in a team environment and with minimal supervision
