Job summary

Singer Equipment Company, the largest foodservice equipment and supplies distributor in the mid-Atlantic region, is hiring an experienced full-time local Day Shift Driver/ Warehouse Worker to join their warehouse team. LOCAL routes only! No Weekends!

Essential functions include driving a box truck, loading/unloading, pallet jack usage, and routine safety checks. Candidates should have a clean driving history and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. We offer competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Clean driving history.
• Pass DOT Medical and Physical Examination.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Safety oriented and team player.
• Able to follow predetermined routing and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Drive/operate box truck to transport orders between customer locations.
• Manually handle equipment from pallets and load to hand truck to transport orders into the facility.
• Utilize pallet jack to move pallets of product to and from truck to delivery location.
• Communicate with customer and/or supervisor using handheld devices.
• Conduct daily inspection of truck prior to departure and arrival.
• Manually break down freight and receive into computer system.
• Put away product utilizing powered industrial equipment.
• Perform tasks in a safe manner and comply with company policies and procedures.
• Proactively identify and report workplace hazards.
• Assist with warehouse activities when a delivery route is not scheduled.

Minimum Qualifications

• Pass DOT Medical and Physical Examination and other clearances
• Excellent Customer Service and communication skills
• Safety oriented
• Able to follow predetermined routing/directions
• Works well in a team environment and with minimal supervision
