Job summary

Singer Equipment Company is seeking an experienced Day Shift Driver/ Warehouse Worker to join its Paterson warehouse team. This full-time role focuses on local routes only with no weekend deliveries and involves driving a box truck, loading and unloading, and warehouse duties in a safe, team-oriented environment.

You will operate pallet jacks and powered equipment, perform pre-trip inspections, and coordinate with customers and supervisors using handheld devices.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, reach, squat and bend during shift.
• Pass DOT Medical and Physical Examination and other clearances
• Excellent Customer Service and communication skills
• Safety oriented
• Able to follow predetermined routing/directions
• Works well in a team environment and with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Drive/operate box truck to transport orders between customer locations.
• Manually handle equipment from pallets and load to hand truck to transport orders into the facility.
• Utilize pallet jack to move pallets of product to and from truck to delivery location.
• Communicate with customer and/or supervisor using handheld devices.
• Conduct daily inspection of truck prior to departure and arrival.
• Manually break down freight and receive into computer system.
• Put away product utilizing powered industrial equipment. Perform tasks in a safe manner and comply with company policies and procedures.
• Proactively identify and report workplace hazards.
• Assist with warehouse activities when a delivery route is not scheduled
