The TM Receiver is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy to keep inventory shortages at or below store goals and maximize store sales by receiving and shipping freight within a timely manner. The TM Receiver interacts with customers and Team Members, supports selling initiatives, and performs assigned tasks while delivering a Legendary Customer Experience. Additionally, they promote a safe and productive work environment for all Team Members, customers, and vendors, adhering to Tractor Supply Company safety training and guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

It is essential that you be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, capable of fulfilling all the following requirements.

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime based on business needs.
• Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA:
  • Greet the Customer.
  • Uncover Customer Needs & Wants.
  • Recommend Product Solutions.
  • Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
• The TM Receiver performs a combination of duties during 95% of their day, including but not limited to:
  • Processing inbound and outbound freight.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory control and adhering to loss prevention standards.
  • Recovering merchandise.
  • Participating in mandatory freight processes.
  • Keeping a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Maintaining, recovering, stocking, and tagging assigned areas and displayed merchandise outside the store.
  • Operating cash register/computer following cash handling procedures.
  • Ensuring a Legendary shopping experience for customers.
  • Rotating and disposing of dated products.
  • Assembling merchandise.
  • Operating Forklift and Cardboard Baler.
  • Ensuring the safety and care of poultry, including sanitizing tanks and caring for birds as needed.
  • Completing all documentation related to these duties.
  • Obtaining necessary licenses or certifications.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Shipping/receiving preferred but not required. Retail, farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred. Must be 18+ and possess a valid driver’s license.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential regardless of education level.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities

• Basic computer and math skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ethical conflict resolution.

Working Conditions

• Mostly indoor work with moderate noise; outdoor work possible in adverse weather.
• Shifts typically no less than 4 hours, potentially exceeding 8 hours.
• Hard surfaces, adequate lighting and temperature; outdoor exposure possible.
• Promote safety and adhere to safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements

• Non-sedentary; ability to move quickly and safely throughout the store and outdoors.
• Ability to operate equipment like forklifts, balers, and cash registers.
• Ability to lift, push, pull merchandise up to specified weights, and perform physical tasks such as climbing and reaching.
• Effective communication skills and ability to complete documentation accurately.
• Ability to handle birds/poultry and complete necessary certifications.
