Job summary

City of St. Louis Park is seeking an entry-level maintenance assistant to support Rec Center, ROC, and Aquatic Park operations. You will help with customer service, custodial duties, ice and pool maintenance, and grounds care.

The role requires the ability to learn equipment like Zambonis, perform cleaning and setup for meetings, and assist during events with crowd control and safety. Availability includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a public setting.
• Ice resurfacer operation experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and the public.
• Previous light maintenance or custodial experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance staff with facility operations during shift and provide customer service.
• Clean restrooms and locker rooms; sweep, mop, vacuum, wash windows and remove trash.
• Learn and operate Zambonis and ice maintenance equipment.
• Perform pool maintenance tasks including cleaning and assisting with deck areas.
• Carry out grounds upkeep: mowing, trash pickup, weed control.
