Job summary

Nucor Rebar Fabrication South Central in Waxahachie, TX, is seeking an entry-level detailer to grow in AutoCAD and RebarCAD detailing, from foundations to slabs, assisting in fabrication-to-installation workflows.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Vocational certificate (or currently enrolled) in CAD design/drafting OR related degree issued from an accredited school or college.
• At least six months experience using AutoCAD and Windows based software.
• Able to read architectural/engineering blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Develop working knowledge of AutoCAD and the basics of Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s detailing system (RebarCAD).
• Develop basic knowledge of reinforcing bar industry including reference material (i.e., CRSI and ACI).
• Detail simple projects with little or no assistance (i.e., simple foundations, walls, footings, piers, slabs, stairs, retaining walls).
• Submit placing drawings for approval and ensure conformance to QA and placer/shop requirements.
• Process change orders to maximize all possible returns for the Branch.
• Maintain all deliveries for fabrication.
• Communicate with customer, placer and Architect/Engineer on all questions; submit RFIs as required.
• Work with Detailing Manager to ensure all specialty items are pre-ordered to maintain construction schedules.
• Follow projects from estimate through detailing and fabrication to installation at the job site.
• Assist in resolving construction conflicts/disputes in time- and cost-effective ways.
• Participate in weekly safety and operations meetings.
