Job summary

Iws-Group is seeking dependable and hardworking Garbage & Recycling Collectors to join our rear-load collection team. This is a physically demanding role requiring outdoor work and strict safety and productivity adherence.

You will collect garbage and recyclables from designated locations, ride on the rear of the truck, and assist with routing while following safety procedures. Candidates must wear PPE and perform duties in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials throughout the workday.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Must follow all safety instructions and wear required PPE at all times.
• Previous waste collection, recycling, sanitation, or general labor experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collect residential and/or commercial garbage and recyclable materials from designated locations.
• Ride on and work from the rear of a collection truck while following all safety procedures.
• Lift, carry, and empty garbage and recycling containers into the truck.
• Assist the driver with positioning the truck and safely navigating collection routes.
• Keep the work area around the truck clean and free of debris.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the driver and other crew members.
• Report damaged containers, unsafe conditions, or other issues to the driver or supervisor.
• Work efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
• Perform outdoor work regardless of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and other conditions.
