Qualifications

• Three years' experience as a skilled court reporter or ability to report and transcribe 200 wpm for five consecutive minutes.
• CCR or CSR license required at time of hire.
• Certification per RCW 18.145.080 must be maintained throughout employment.
• Post-secondary education in court reporting preferred; RPR certification may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Reports, transcribes and preserves verbatim stenographic records of court proceedings.
• Indexes and files notes and transcripts; locates and reads back portions on request.
• Produces transcripts and manages deadlines per appellate procedures.
• Provides realtime reporting to the Judge during proceedings.
• Maintains professional demeanor and supports courtroom order.
