Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Reality Capture Specialist Manager to lead the Reality Capture team within the California region, with potential assignments in Los Angeles, Riverside, Sacramento, San Diego, and San Francisco.

You will develop digital models of existing buildings and spaces using cutting-edge technology, coordinating with design teams and clients while ensuring accuracy and efficiency across project scopes. Architectural knowledge and PM experience are essential for successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Engineering/Surveying or equivalent.
• 10–12 years of professional 3D scanning experience, including at least 5 years of project management.
• FAA Part 107 UAS Pilot License.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Civil3D, InfraWorks, Recap, Navisworks, BIM360/ACC, and Dynamo.
• Experience with Point Cloud software such as Leica Cyclone/Register360, Field360, 3DR, and CloudWorx.
• Strong understanding of building documentation best practices.
• Knowledge of LOA standards for 3D Capture and LOD standards for BIM.
• Ability to manage and collaborate across multiple project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Reality Capture Specialists in your region, ensuring technical growth and project success.
• Communicate effectively with the Reality Capture Team to align priorities and workflows.
• Train staff on advanced scanning techniques and accurate building capture documentation.
• Operate, register, and process data from a wide range of 3D laser scanning equipment.
• Apply expert technical skills to evaluate building conditions and deliver precise, efficient 3D scans.
• Conduct regular QA checks of scanning work to maintain compliance with client and DLR Group standards.
• Participate in BIM kickoff meetings and contribute lessons learned in team meetings and training sessions.
• Manage project schedules and budgets to ensure scanning projects are delivered on time and within scope.
