Job summary

Fullstack in San Francisco seeks a Software Engineer to build the backend infrastructure powering a real-time trading platform. You will design and ship services that handle live market data, orchestrate cross-venue integrations, and process high-throughput event streams.

You will work across blockchain execution environments, data pipelines, API services, and deployment automation, collaborating with blockchain and product teams to ensure fast, reliable execution for traders in volatile markets.

Qualifications

• Production Rust: strong ownership, lifetimes, async; comfortable debugging across stack.
• Systems Programming: deep understanding of databases, networks, concurrency; performance tradeoffs.
• Async & Concurrency: experience with Tokio; design for high throughput without data races.
• Database Proficiency: relational, time-series, key-value stores; indexing and query optimization.
• API Design: REST or gRPC APIs; type safety, error handling, observability.
• Performance Mindset: profiling before optimizing; understand allocation patterns under load.
• Production Operations: deploying/debugging in production; Docker, monitoring, reliability.
• In-Person Collaborator: thrive in high-bandwidth, in-person engineering environments.
• Work Authorization: authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Build risk engines and state machines for trading backend operations.
• Develop distributed services with consistent state across async processes.
• Process real-time market data and manage WebSocket streams across venues.
• Create data pipelines and time-series schemas for fast queries.
• Develop external integrations with trading venues and API rate limit handling.
• Design REST and WebSocket APIs with fast, millisecond response times.
• Profile and optimize Rust code; deploy containerized services; implement monitoring.
