Job summary

AIDA Recruitment seeks Software Engineers – Backend Systems for a client building a high-performance real-time trading platform. The role emphasizes production Rust experience to power backend infrastructure, asynchronous programming, and latency-sensitive systems.

Based in New York or San Francisco, you will tackle risk engines, trading APIs, and backend services across distributed systems, with a focus on performance and scalability in live market environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Production Rust experience (strongly preferred) or C++.
• Experience building real-time, high-throughput backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming (Tokio or similar).
• Experience with relational, time-series, and key-value databases.
• Experience in FinTech, trading, blockchain, or similar.
• Startup experience and genuine interest in financial markets or blockchain.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain risk and liquidation engines for fast-moving markets.
• Build blockchain state machines supporting trading, settlement, and risk operations.
• Develop backend services with async processes using consensus and coordination.
• Process real-time market data and coordinate trading across venues.
• Design and optimize high-performance REST and WebSocket APIs with millisecond responses.
