Job summary

KBR is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to design, development, and testing of software for large-scale communications demos at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. The role emphasizes real-time C++ development, system design, and collaboration across multiple disciplines in a hybrid/remote-friendly environment.

Requires DoD Secret clearance, 5+ years in C++/Java and OO design, plus experience with deployment, UML, and distributed systems. On-site with possible remote work options within MA.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• MS in Software Engineering or Computer Science (or B.S. with 6+ years’ experience).
• 5+ years in C++/C++11 and Java/Java Script.
• 5+ years in Source Control and OO development.
• 5+ years UML, software modelling, and deployment.
• 5+ years with distributed systems and Linux/RTOS.
• Strong written and verbal communication; multi-disciplinary teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Define software architecture and real-time system design.
• Develop in C++ and prototype communications-based software with a multidisciplinary team.
• Perform integration, test design, and field/ lab support.
• Prepare technical documentation and specifications.
• Collaborate with lab partners and external audiences.
