Job summary

KBR is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to design, development, and testing of software for large-scale communications system demonstrations at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. The role involves real-time coding in C++, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and support for lab and field experiments.

Hybrid and remote positions are possible. If you join, you’ll work on modern programming practices and contribute to national security and space defense initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• MS in Software Engineering or CS; or BS with 6+ years related experience.
• 5+ years of C++/C++11 experience.
• 5+ years of Java/JavaScript experience.
• 5+ years of Source Control (Git/SVN/Clearcase).
• 5+ years of OO development.
• 5+ years of UML experience.
• 5+ years of software deployment and modern deployment techniques.
• 5+ years of software DevSecOps.
• 5+ years of software algorithm development and performance improvements.
• 5+ years of design patterns and data structures.
• 5+ years of distributed systems and IPC.
• 5+ years of Linux development environment and/or RTOS.
• 5+ years of hardware abstraction layers.
• 5+ years of software lifecycle processes.

Responsibilities

• Define software architecture for large-scale demos.
• Design and implement system software (primarily in C++).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to prototype communications software.
• Perform integration, test design, and support lab/field experiments.
• Prepare technical documentation and presentations for internal and external audiences.
