Job summary

ProFrac in Texas seeks a Reservoir Engineer/Geomechanics Lead to steer the Reservoir Contact Index (RCI) development within Machina. You will own real-time, basin-calibrated methods and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deploy product-ready diagnostics.

The role demands expertise in reservoir engineering, geomechanics, micro seismic data interpretation, and Bayesian modeling, with experience translating research into deployed capabilities. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; advanced degrees preferred.
• Direct experience interpreting micro seismic data for unconventional completions.
• Working knowledge of geomechanics relevant to hydraulic fracturing.
• Experience with statistical/quantitative modeling using field data.
• Programming proficiency in Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Refine the Reservoir Contact Index (RCI) weighting methodology using geomechanical parameters and fracture-network components.
• Develop real-time, in-stage precursor scoring for RCI aligned with UI milestones.
• Create methodologies enabling automation to respond to reservoir signals during a stage.
• Collaborate with data partners on micro seismic catalogs, moment tensor inversion, and event location data.
• Calibrate RCI basin-wide using Bayesian or similar quantitative methods.
• Ensure latency-aware real-time data delivery and system performance.
• Translate methodologies into product-ready specifications and customer materials.
• Maintain knowledge of ongoing research in completion diagnostics and hydraulics.
