Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a control, dispatch, operations, command, security operations, or similar center environment.
• NERC System Operator Certification required within six months of hire.
• Knowledge of power generation operations and bulk electric system principles.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time operation of Alliant Energy's balancing authorities to maintain reliability.
• Dispatch generating units per MISO instructions and procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation of events, alarms, and dispatch.
• Coordinate with plant personnel, transmission operators, and utilities.
• Assist with training and certification activities for NERC compliance.
