Job summary

Alliant Energy is looking for a GENCO System Operator to monitor real-time generation resources, coordinate dispatch, and ensure reliability across Alliant Energy East and West Balancing Authority Areas. The role involves using GMS, reporting, and adhering to NERC and MRO standards while pursuing NERC certification within six months of hire.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders, including plant personnel and transmission operators, and may participate in training and emergency

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience in a control, dispatch, operations, command, security operations, or similar center environment.
• NERC System Operator Certification required within six (6) months of hire.
• Knowledge of NERC reliability standards, MISO procedures, and company operating requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support real-time operation of generating resources to maintain reliability of Alliant Energy's Balancing Authority Areas.
• Utilize systems to monitor load, frequency, generation output, and equipment status; dispatch units per instructions and reliability requirements.
• Assist with emergencies, data quality, and documentation; participate in training for NERC certification and compliance.
