Job summary

Bartholomew County REMC is seeking a Dispatcher & Distribution System Operator to support real-time dispatch and distribution system operations. You will coordinate line crews, monitor outages, and manage service and work orders to ensure accurate labor, materials, and mapping records.

This role uses SCADA, OMS, GIS, AMI, and MDM systems, serving as a central technical and communication resource between engineering, field operations, and members.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent; or high school diploma with two years dispatching or GIS experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
• Ability to learn NISC mapping software and SCADA operations
• Strong communication and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
• Must adhere to safety rules and maintain data accuracy

Responsibilities

• Perform dispatch duties for line crews via radio, phone, or electronic systems throughout the day.
• Monitor crews, worksites, outages, and contract crews while coordinating field activities as needed.
• Assist in outage restoration and support crews with line switching and load transfers in the office.
• Submit emergency locate tickets and create service/work orders as required.
• Review completed work orders to ensure labor, materials, and time are accurately recorded and mapping is updated.
