Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle, WA is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build scalable AI-powered personalization systems. You will design services that leverage large language models, handle latency, model drift, and deploy end-to-end, collaborating with Applied Scientists and cross-functional teams to ship reliable systems at scale.

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience for new or existing systems.
Experience programming with at least one software language.
Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (e.g., object storage, document/key-value stores, graph databases).

Responsibilities

Design and build services that use large language models to extract structured knowledge and serve it in real time.
Build reliable infrastructure around AI systems addressing hallucinations, latency spikes, and model drift.
Develop pipelines processing millions of signals daily into durable data stores.
Create monitoring and evaluation frameworks for AI outputs with automated quality measures and human-in-the-loop validation.
Collaborate with Applied Scientists to move models from research to production.
Build customer-facing feedback loops to improve system quality over time.
Ship fast with ownership of the full lifecycle from infrastructure to on-call.
