Job summary

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a Lab Technician in Wake Forest, NC to perform high-complexity real-time PCR testing and other molecular procedures, delivering accurate results to support patient care.

You'll collect and process specimens, document results in the EMR, maintain QC and equipment, and ensure CLIA, OSHA and HIPAA compliance while collaborating with clinicians in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Qualifications

• Medical laboratory certification, or a Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science that is compliant with CLIA standards.
• Two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience, including molecular or PCR-based testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform CLIA high-complexity, real-time PCR testing in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Collect, prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens.
• Accurately document laboratory results in the electronic medical record.
• Perform quality control procedures, calibration, and routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
• Prepare and manage specimens for internal and external testing as needed.
• Monitor laboratory inventory, reagents, and expiration dates.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and report testing discrepancies, equipment issues, or quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to support efficient operations.
