Job summary

Xcel Energy in Denver, CO is seeking a Principal IT Architect for Operational Technology to provide architectural leadership for mission-critical OT platforms, ensuring reliability, security, compliance, and business continuity across enterprise ecosystems.

You will drive roadmaps, governance, and integration patterns, collaborate across architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, and operations, and guide real-time data exchange and observability. Hybrid work arrangement with onsite days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.
• Ten years of related functional experience.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills across organizational levels.
• Strong architecture acumen across network, infrastructure, software, data, and security.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership for mission-critical OT platforms with high availability and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and communicate technology strategies and roadmaps to support modernization, cybersecurity, and compliance.
• Lead architecture governance and design reviews across multi-platform initiatives and stakeholder groups.
• Define integration patterns and best practices for real-time data exchange, telemetry, and secure access patterns.
• Collaborate across architecture, engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and vendors to resolve complex challenges.
