Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field preferred.
• Experience in mud logging, gas analysis, and related activities within the oil and gas industry.
• Expertise in geological software, data analysis tools, and chromatography equipment relevant to drilling operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct continuous real-time surveillance of drilling parameters and geological data.
• Collect, analyze, and describe drill cuttings, and perform hydrocarbon extraction analysis to identify hydrocarbon presence in the cuttings.
• Supervise the operation and maintenance of gas extraction equipment, ensuring precise chromatography data acquisition.
• Oversee and document the calibration and maintenance of all geological monitoring equipment, including routine validation of equipment accuracy.
• Manage data acquisition systems, employing advanced software for gas detection and drilling parameter monitoring.
• Generate comprehensive logs detailing drilling progress, mud characteristics, and stratigraphic information.
• Collaborate with geologists and drilling engineers, providing critical data to aid in operational planning and decision-making processes.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all geological samples and their corresponding data.
• Adhere to all safety, environmental, and operational standards set by the company.
