Job summary

Schlumberger Limited in Louisiana seeks a GSS Mud Logging Analyst to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable product service at the wellsite. You will monitor the well, maintain sensors and data acquisition equipment, and provide timely data to clients.

You will analyze samples, prepare formation evaluation logs, communicate observations to client representatives, and support sample catchers while following safety regulations and applying continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Geology, Geological Applied Sciences, Earth Sciences or Applied Sciences required.
• Previous experience as a Mud Logger / Mud Logging Analyst is preferred however not essential if candidate is degree qualified in relevant discipline.
• Previous experience in field-work is a plus.
• Knowledge of Drilling Equipment and Techniques.
• Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the integrity of the samples collected; analyzes, interprets and reports in the End of Well Report and enters within the formation evaluation log all information relating to the cutting samples, and informs the Client representatives.
• Communicates to Client representatives any information regarding primary well control and well integrity during well site operations as deducted from the data.
• Maintains and analyzes the volume balance sheet during well site operations.
• Alerts the Data Analyst to discrepancies in the formation evaluation or gases analysis observed.
• Detects and monitors potential well control situations and ensures the formation evaluation log is accurate and complete.
• Respects safety regulations and procedures as specified by the Client, Drilling Operator, Geoservices or relevant safety authorities.
