Job summary

Harbinger is seeking an MES & Ignition Developer to design and develop reporting, visualization, and automation solutions for our manufacturing operations. You will transform data from our MES (Siemens OpCenter) into real-time insights using Ignition, building plant-floor and management dashboards, automated production reporting, and critical alerts.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and IT teams to translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions,

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Inductive Automation Ignition (Perspective and/or Vision).
• Experience with Ignition Reporting, alarms, or notifications.
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases.
• Experience with Python/Jython scripting or similar.
• Understanding of manufacturing metrics (OEE, cycle time, throughput).
• Experience integrating MES and manufacturing data sources.
• Troubleshooting across applications, databases, and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop real-time Ignition dashboards for plant-floor operators and leadership.
• Automate daily production, quality, and downtime reporting using Ignition modules.
• Configure event-driven alerts for production events and faults.
• Integrate Ignition with Siemens OpCenter and manufacturing data sources via SQL.
• Develop SQL queries, procedures, and data models for reliable reporting.
• Write Python/Jython scripts for custom logic and workflows.
• Create intuitive industrial interfaces for plant-floor displays.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and IT to translate needs.
• Maintain Ignition environment, gateway performance, and security.
• Troubleshoot data, application, and integration issues across systems.
