Job summary

Harbinger Motors seeks an MES & Ignition Developer to turn MES data from Siemens OpCenter into real-time insights using Ignition. You will build plant-floor dashboards, automate production reporting, and deliver integrated solutions across operations and IT.

You’ll collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to translate needs into scalable technical assets. This role is hands-on and requires strong SQL, Python/Jython, and troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Ignition development experience (Perspective and/or Vision).
• Experience with Ignition Reporting, alarming, notifications, or related features.
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases and complex datasets.
• Experience with Python/Jython scripting or similar languages.
• Understanding of manufacturing metrics (OEE, cycle time, downtime, quality).
• Experience integrating applications with MES or manufacturing data sources.
• Strong troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design real-time Ignition dashboards for plant-floor operators, supervisors, and leadership.
• Automate daily production, quality, and downtime reporting using Ignition modules.
• Configure event-driven alerts for production events, faults, and quality deviations.
• Integrate Ignition with Siemens OpCenter and manufacturing data sources via SQL.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models.
• Write Python/Jython scripts within Ignition for custom logic and workflows.
• Design high-visibility industrial interfaces for plant-floor displays.
• Collaborate with manufacturing leaders to translate needs into solutions.
• Monitor Ignition environment, gateway performance, and security.
• Troubleshoot data, application, and integration issues across Ignition and MES.
• Support scaling of Harbinger's manufacturing tech ecosystem as production grows.
