Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking a Medical Scribe to transcribe medical notes onsite at outpatient locations, supporting physicians and patients in real-time.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent, knowledge of medical terminology, and strong English communication skills. Candidates should be able to work independently, adhere to confidentiality, and maintain high accuracy under time pressure.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in related field.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English.
• Ability to understand diverse accents and dialects and varying dictation styles.

Responsibilities

• Scribe in real time in the exam room to provide enhanced interaction between patient and physician.
• Translate jargon and abbreviations into a formal EMR entry.
• Transcribes all medical notes.
• Adheres to legal requirements for medical report style and confidentiality.
• Able to be productive and accurate under time constraints.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
