Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Scribe to accurately document patient encounters in real time under provider supervision within the EHR system. You will identify yourself to patients, accompany providers during exams, and record histories, procedures and test results while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in medical terminology and basic coding knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally.

Responsibilities

• Is present during clinical services and accurately documents information in real time under Provider supervision.
• Identifies self and explains role to patient/family.
• Accurately records details from encounters in the EHR.
• Accompanies provider during patient interviews and examinations.
• Records patient history, medications, allergies and exam findings.
• Records procedures and lab/radiology reviews.
• Maintains HIPAA confidentiality and follows policies.
