Southern California Orthopedic Institute is seeking a meticulous SCO Scribe to support clinicians by real-time documentation of patient encounters. You will enter detailed notes and ensure accurate charting to optimize patient care and billing workflows.

The role requires proficiency with EHR systems, strong medical terminology knowledge, and excellent communication skills. Prior scribe experience or relevant healthcare exposure is preferred, with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality a must.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical scribe training program or relevant healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Accurately document patient histories, physical exams, and other relevant clinical information during patient visits in real-time.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure all necessary information is captured and recorded in the EHR system.
• Review and verify documentation for completeness and accuracy to support billing, coding, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
• Assist in managing workflow by organizing and prioritizing documentation tasks to support timely completion of medical records.
• Assist in administrative duties including answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing mail, and faxing.
