Job summary

Maven Robotics is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and implement a real-time Linux platform powering autonomous robotics systems. You will optimize high-performance, GPU-accelerated compute for robotics and ML workloads, collaborating across Controls and ML teams.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, ROS 2 experience, and a solid background in PREEMPT_RT Linux bringup, IPC, and multicore ARM environments.

Qualifications

• MS degree in computer engineering, computer science or related field.
• Experience bringup and configuration of Linux PREEMPT_RT or similar OS (e.g. QNX).
• Strong understanding of Linux device trees, scheduling and memory management.
• Experience with multicore ARM SoCs, IPC and message passing.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with ROS 2 middleware or alternatives.
• Familiarity with container technologies and runtimes.
• Knowledge of toolchains (compilers, linkers, debuggers).
• Self-starter with prioritization and execution in fast-paced startups.

Responsibilities

• Design, adapt, and integrate POSIX-compliant systems for robotics and ML apps.
• Develop framework for integrating controls, ML, and real-time tasks.
• Collaborate with Controls and ML engineers for high-performance autonomous systems.
• Develop and maintain drivers for real-time robotic middleware.
• Build tools to monitor, verify, and optimize system performance.
