Job summary

Beyond New Horizons (BNH) is seeking an ID&C Software Developer to support the TOS II contract at Arnold AFB, TN. You will design, develop, and sustain high‑speed data distribution and real‑time software for aeropropulsion and Hypersonics facilities, collaborating with engineers to integrate software with hardware.

The role requires C/C++ and Python expertise, DDS, and strong focus on low‑latency data processing. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, information systems, or STEM.
• Minimum two years of software development experience with design, coding, testing and Git.
• Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience; or software internship may substitute for 6 months.
• Must obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance and AEDC access.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to Air Force security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain real-time applications using C/C++ and Python.
• Define, parse, and optimize custom binary/serialized network data packets for high-frequency data.
• Implement DDS with TCP/IP/UDP to manage publish-subscribe data systems with QoS constraints.
• Develop, debug, and scale low-latency data ingestion pipelines for storage, archiving, and visualization.
• Use GitLab and CI/CD; work with CLion, PyCharm, Visual Studio to maintain secure codebase.
• Collaborate with instrumentation, control and electrical engineers to integrate software with hardware.
• Apply software security best practices to meet DoD cybersecurity guidelines.
