Job summary

Beyond New Horizons seeks an ID&C Software Developer at Arnold AFB, TN. You will perform hands-on design and development of real-time data distribution software for aeropropulsion and hypersonics facilities, including DDS-based data flows and ultra-low latency drivers. Expect collaboration with engineers and adherence to security guidelines.

The role requires C/C++ and Python expertise, DoD clearance eligibility, and a track record in distributed data systems within a DoD environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering from an accredited college.
• At least 2 years in software development with design, coding, testing, and Git version control.
• Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience; software internship of 3+ months may substitute for 6 months.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain real-time applications in C/C++ and Python.
• Define, parse, and optimize custom binary network data packets for high-frequency data streams.
• Configure DDS with TCP/IP/UDP for publish-subscribe data systems with QoS.
• Develop low-latency data ingestion and real-time visualization pipelines.
• Use GitLab, CI/CD, CLion, PyCharm, and Visual Studio to maintain code quality and security.
• Collaborate with instrumentation, control, and electrical engineers to integrate software with hardware.
• Apply DoD cybersecurity practices and maintain security compliance.
• Wear PPE as required and support the contract mission.
