Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) seeks a Transmission System Operator to monitor and support the real-time operation of the high-voltage transmission system up to 500 kV, ensuring reliable power for members.

The role centers on real-time monitoring, decision-making under pressure, and coordination of switching orders, outages, and restoration efforts while complying with NERC reliability standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Ideally 6+ years of transmission operations or construction experience, including ~2+ years in control center.
• Sound decision-making ability under stressful and time-sensitive operating conditions.
• Effective communication in real-time operations settings.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while monitoring multiple CRTs and system information sources.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time transmission system conditions and support reliable operation.
• Operate the Energy Control System to detect and avert overloads, damage, and voltage fluctuations.
• Maintain system stability by monitoring weather, telecommunications, metering, and data.
