Job summary

Gasoc is seeking a System Operator II to independently manage complex generation operations exceeding 6500 MW and to oversee fuel and resource commitments across multiple facilities. The role also involves strategic decision-making for system reliability under pressure.

Qualified candidates should possess at least six years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and NERC certifications. The position requires effective communication abilities and the capacity to manage volatile operational conditions.

Qualifications

• Six years of transmission/generation operations or construction experience.
• Two years of control center related experience.
• Qualified to work Interchange and the 'pool' desks.

Responsibilities

• Manage real-time operations of generation facilities and purchases.
• Commit and de-commit generation to match system needs.
• Maintain and enhance system stability through monitoring and corrective actions.

Skills

Excel/MS Word experience

Decision-making ability under stressful conditions

Effective communication skills

Basic knowledge of electrical theory

Education

High school graduate or GED Equivalent
