Job summary

Hawaiian Electric is hiring for the Watch Office, a real-time monitoring and hazard reporting role in the Emergency Preparedness & Response division. This Professional position offers three vacancies on a demanding, 24/7 operation in Honolulu, HI.

You will coordinate with field teams, meteorology tools, and regulators to ensure timely situational awareness. Qualified candidates have a BA/BS in a related field and 5+ years of data analysis, project management, and program development experience

Qualifications

BA/BS in business, fire science, engineering, environmental science, or related field; 4 years experience may substitute.
Strong data analysis and reporting knowledge.
Working knowledge of electrical utility procedures.
Proficient with MS Office, GIS tools, weather modeling, dashboards and alerting systems.
Experience with open-source information (NOAA, NWS, Google Earth).
Experience in program or project management within emergency management or wildfire mitigation.

Responsibilities

Monitor real-time weather and environmental data to provide situational awareness.
Collaborate to validate hazards, provide updates to leadership and partners.
Lead or support emergency response activities and training.
