Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a System Operator to monitor and operate the Bulk Electric System in real time, ensuring stability and reliability.

You will work to maintain voltage profiles and system limits while balancing demand and resources within the Balancing Authority Area. You will collaborate with a diverse team including Power Marketers and Shift Supervisors, performing reliability tasks and cross-training to enhance team versatility.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience as an Associate System Operator or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of transmission operations and generator theory.
• Ability to coordinate with internal/external teams and maintain reliability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the BES within the service area.
• Maintain proper voltage profiles and system operating limits.
• Balance demand and resources within the Balancing Authority Area.
• Collaborate with power marketers, shift supervisors, and other operators.
• Perform real-time reliability tasks to sustain system stability.
