Job summary

Roadrunner is seeking an Operations Assistant to help maintain speed, accuracy, and reliability of day-to-day terminal operations in Cincinnati, OH. You will own load visibility, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure systems reflect ground truth.

Ideal candidates bring basic computer skills, strong communication, and organizational abilities for a fast-paced logistics environment. This onsite role supports delivery execution, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across levels
• Proficiency with basic computer tools and imaging software
• Foundational math skills for weights, distances, and monetary values
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions
• Solid organizational and prioritization abilities in a fast-paced setting
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
• Problem solving in operational contexts; HazMat cert preferred
• Experience in transportation, logistics, or terminal operations is a plus

Responsibilities

• Drive operational coordination and load visibility.
• Track outbound loads daily and ensure system updates are accurate.
• Proactively communicate delays to leadership before 11 AM.
• Monitor pickup schedules and investigate loads not departed by 10 AM.
• Escalate risks to Linehaul and leadership with clear context.
• Execute administrative workflows and maintain records.
• Manage driver documents and compliance materials.
• Route maintenance records to Safety for compliance.
• Manifest freight and ensure documentation accuracy.
• File and maintain exception reports and records.
• Support delivery execution and customer commitments.
• Schedule inbound freight and linehaul appointments.
• Coordinate redeliveries and obtain ACR authorization.
• Enter ACRs into systems for financial alignment.
• Work with brokers to secure rates for non-service point returns.
• Resolve operational issues and improve throughput.
• Trace freight and investigate shipment issues across networks.
• Coordinate with teams to resolve delivery disruptions.
• Identify recurring issues and escalation patterns.
• Provide system-related and operational support to terminals.
