The role focuses on real-time trading, risk management, data-driven analysis and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced 24/7 operation.

We seek a professional with finance or engineering background, strong Excel skills, and experience in multiple US power markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Finance or Engineering (preferred).
• PJM Certified Generation Dispatcher Exam within 9 months of hire.
• Two+ years in energy sector; five years Real Time trading/operations experience for Senior title.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with PJM, MISO, NYISO, NEPOOL, SPP, Southeast Power Markets.
• Flexibility to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation.

Responsibilities

• Manage/mitigate risk for the asset owners.
• Capture market opportunities based on real-time positions and analysis of market conditions.
• Conduct real-time trading and scheduling for purchases and sales of energy and transmission.
• Build relationships with market participants.
• Communicate real-time market information to energy managers as well as cash and term traders.
• Maintain regulatory requirements with FERC, resulting in some weekend alternative shift schedules.
• Proficiently collect, query, organize, and manipulate large amounts of data in Excel and accurately present analytical results.
• Prioritize deliverables and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Assist in training and supporting other traders regarding processes and procedures.
• Accurately record purchase and sale transactions in relevant deal capture systems.
