Job summary

HEPCO, Inc. is seeking a Software Integration Engineer in Michigan to integrate and test software for combat vehicle systems. You will work on Red Hat Linux, hardware interfaces, and networked environments, building testbeds and verifying integration of drivers and libraries. Travel to customer sites is expected.

Candidate should have a STEM degree and 2+ years of experience in software integration, plus the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• At least two years of software integration experience.
• Experience integrating and testing software on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Experience packaging software as RPMs and binaries.
• Experience with drivers, shared objects, and static libraries.
• Ability to build and maintain software & hardware integration testbeds.
• Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols.
• Experience with Git and Jira or GitLab configuration-management tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel to customer sites and obtain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and test software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Integrate hardware components and software modules within combat vehicle systems.
• Build and maintain software and hardware integration testbeds.
• Use Ethernet and CAN bus protocols to test applications and troubleshoot issues.
• Package Linux software as RPMs and binary executables.
• Work with drivers, shared objects, and static libraries.
• Perform scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening, vulnerability scanning, and verification.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to investigate issues and analyze data.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and software integration problems.
• Travel to customer sites as required.
