Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking experienced Distributed Systems Engineers to join the DATA Organisation. You will design, build, and operate a massively scalable logging and data platform that handles real-time logs and analytics for customers worldwide.

You will work on data delivery, analytical database, and customer-facing data retrieval systems, with emphasis on Go, SQL, and modern observability stacks. Competitive compensation and equity eligible in a global environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software development covering distributed systems and data pipelines.
• Strong programming skills in Go and building high-throughput systems.
• Hands-on experience with modern observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Strong knowledge of SQL and query optimization.
• Experience with data streaming tools (Kafka, Flink) and storage (S3, GCS).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate a robust logging platform for customer destinations and third-party integrations.
• Develop and maintain high-performance data connectors and integrations for log-shipping products.
• Create and manage systems for comprehensive audit logs with security and compliance in mind.
• Scale and optimize the data delivery pipeline for massive data volumes and low latency.
• Collaborate with Product and other engineering teams to define requirements for logging platform improvements.
• Maintain on-call rotation and ensure operational health of the log delivery platform.
