Job summary

Steven Douglas Corp. is seeking a Controls Programmer to design, develop, and deploy C# Windows applications that directly control industrial machinery.

You will work closely with controls engineers and technicians on one key solar manufacturing project, ensuring real-time performance and robust hardware interfaces. The role requires 5+ years in C#/.NET for industrial apps, hands-on experience with hardware interfaces, and a Bachelor’s in a related field.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, developing, and deploying C# Windows applications in a .NET environment.
• Hands-on experience interfacing with industrial hardware (sensors, motors, drives, data acquisition).
• PC as primary controller with real-time I/O, device communication, and control logic.
• Strong fundamentals: OO design, architecture, debugging, and version control workflows.
• Able to work on the plant floor with engineers and technicians to translate hardware behavior into software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy C# Windows applications that run on industrial machinery and interface with hardware.
• Build and support applications where the PC is the primary controller with real-time I/O and communication.
• Collaborate with controls engineers to understand machine behavior and translate into maintainable software.
• Support deployment and troubleshooting during machine debug, FAT, and customer startup.
• Maintain and improve existing tools and libraries with good source control and documentation.
• Identify where software can improve machine reliability, data visibility, and troubleshooting speed.
• Travel ~10% to support customer startups and project implementation.
