Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking a Computer Vision Software Engineer for its software-defined weapon optic team. You will tackle real-time vision problems, including target detection, tracking, calibration, and pose estimation on resource-constrained embedded platforms.

You'll work across firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to integrate CV software into production weapon sight hardware, while optimizing for latency, power, and accuracy and supporting counter-UAS

Qualifications

• BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Strong understanding of fundamentals of computer vision: camera projection models, image distortion, rigid transformations, multi-view geometry.
• Prior experience with geometric computer vision (SLAM, camera calibration, stereo vision, photogrammetry, or similar).
• Experience deploying algorithms in resource-constrained or embedded environments.
• Good communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Eligible to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing real-time target detection, classification, and tracking models optimized for low-compute embedded environments (e.g., Qualcomm-based platforms).
• Building and refining camera and sensor calibration pipelines for multi-sensor weapon sight assemblies (EO/IR).
• Developing pose estimation and localization algorithms using bundle adjustment, feature detection/matching, homography, and multi-view geometry.
• Profiling and deploying vision models on constrained hardware, balancing accuracy, latency and power.
• Creating testing and evaluation frameworks with experiments and metrics for detection/tracking performance.
• Collaborating with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to integrate CV software into production weapon sight hardware.
