Skild AI Inc. seeks an experienced Camera Systems Software Engineer to own camera integration for real-time robotic systems on NVIDIA Tegra platforms. Define requirements with external partners and implement, debug, and maintain low-latency camera pipelines.

This hands-on role spans Linux, camera hardware, real-time software, calibration, and synchronization, delivering reliable APIs for perception and autonomy teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience with embedded camera systems, including sensor bring-up and driver-level debugging.
• Experience debugging low-latency camera pipelines and exposure to camera vendors.

Responsibilities

• Own camera systems end-to-end: requirements, bring-up, integration, debugging, calibration, validation, and long-term maintenance.
• Define requirements with external camera partners for sensors, optics, frame rates, exposure, synchronization, and image quality targets.
• Develop and maintain low-level camera software: sensor configuration, drivers, device-tree, capture-path validation, and camera control interfaces.
• Debug issues across hardware/software boundaries (MIPI CSI-2, I2C, GMSL, timing, bandwidth, frame drops).
• Design reliable, low-latency pipelines with careful buffering, memory movement, CPU/GPU interaction, and deterministic data delivery.
• Build high-level APIs exposing frames, timestamps, metadata, calibration parameters, diagnostics, and health status.
• Collaborate with perception, robotics, embedded systems, electrical engineering, and external partners to ensure production-ready camera stack.
