Job summary

Grantek in San Jose, CA, is seeking a hands-on engineer to develop real-time automation solutions from plant floor to enterprise level, using PLC/PAC, HMI/SCADA, networking, data flow and MES/ERP integration. Mentoring will be provided to junior engineers.

You will design, implement and test across multi-vendor platforms, travel 30-50% for client sites, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver efficient, safe systems while advancing your career within Grantek.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 2-3 years of practical experience with PLCs, SCADA/HMI, networking, databases, motion, safety, or high‑level programming.
• Academic or industry experience with Ignition, Allen‑Bradley, and Beckhoff TwinCAT strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engineering and implementing real‑time automation controls and information solutions.
• Architecting full‑system solutions (control logic, SCADA/HMI, networking, MES, data flow, safety systems).
• System programming, debugging, troubleshooting, and testing across multi‑vendor platforms.
• Performing hands‑on PLC/PAC development, SCADA and HMI design, and integration.
• Creating methodologies and performing advanced problem‑solving on complex automation issues.
• Learning and adapting to new technologies, frameworks, and platforms.
