Job summary

University of Connecticut School of Law seeks a lateral candidate for the Thomas F. Gallivan, Jr. Chair of Real Property Law.

This tenured position requires a distinguished scholar with national or international reputation in property law and related fields, and a record of impactful scholarship and teaching. The Chair will lead scholarly research, organize major conferences, and develop innovative law school programs.

Qualifications

• JD degree or equivalent terminal degree in a related field.
• Rank of Full Professor with tenure.
• Distinguished record of high-impact scholarship in property law, land use, real estate law, or closely related areas.
• Excellence in classroom teaching and student mentorship.
• Willingness to engage with the Connecticut bar.
• Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision and leadership through scholarly research and engagement at major national and international conferences and symposia.
• Develop innovative Law School programs and academic offerings.
• Engage with members of the Connecticut real property bar and broader legal community.
• Collaborate with University centers and partners to advance property law scholarship and policy.
