County Of Maui is seeking an entry-level trainee to support real property appraisals under immediate supervision. The role emphasizes orientation, learning appraisal concepts, and assisting experienced staff with data collection and site visits.
The position includes training in valuation techniques, legal descriptions, and property data sources, with opportunities to observe on-site inspections and prepare routine correspondence.
Under immediate supervision, receives initial orientation and training in conducting appraisals of real property; and performs other related duties as required.
This class differs from the Real Property Appraiser II in that it performs under immediate supervision as an entry-level trainee and receives initial orientation and training in the principles, theories, methods, and techniques of appraising real property; whereas the Real Property Appraiser II performs as an advanced trainee requiring some application of the principles, theories, methods, and techniques of appraising real property. A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in real estate, business or public administration, economics, or a related field.
Possession of a valid Hawaii State driver's license (Class 3).
