Job summary

Stout is offering an Intern - Real Estate position in Chicago within its Real Estate practice. Interns assist with valuation and advisory solutions across estate and gift tax appraisal, financial reporting, and due diligence, gaining client exposure and developing technical skills under seasoned professionals.

Interns contribute to on-site inspections, research, and data gathering, with opportunities to participate in client meetings and deliverables.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; 3.5+ preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for client site inspections.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Argus preferred.
• Real estate internship or industry experience preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and evaluations, applying professional judgment to assess valuation-related factors.
• Perform market, industry, and property-level research to support valuation assumptions.
• Prepare due diligence questions and evaluate supporting documentation for valuation.
• Engage with market participants to gather real estate data and insights for valuation accuracy.
• Participate in client meetings and internal discussions, on-site and virtual.
• Analyze financial statements and data sets to generate insights for leadership and clients.
• Select valuation methodologies and key assumptions with independent judgment.
• Create deliverables and analyses including presentations and narratives.
