Job summary

Newmark Group is seeking an Analyst to assist in data collection and analysis for determining market value of real estate used in dispute resolution, mortgage underwriting, acquisitions, and portfolio analysis. You will support senior staff and learn valuation standards, with responsibilities spanning database use, property inspections, and report preparation.

Ideal candidates hold a real estate/finance focus and an appraiser trainee license, with strong Excel/Word skills and analytical ability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in real estate, economics, or finance required.
• Appraiser trainee license issued by the state board required or in progress.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of Argus is a plus.
• Prior real estate analysis or market research experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Collects, analyzes, and reports appraisal related market data.
• Understands company research database programs.
• Inspects properties as part of the valuation process.
• Assists in preparing sections of appraisal reports under supervision.
• Understands software used to prepare valuation reports.
• Continues training on regulations, zoning laws and appraisal standards.
• Uses third-party data sources for valuations.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
