Job summary

NJ Department of Environmental Protection in Trenton seeks a Title Examiner to perform real estate title searches and analyze instruments for state acquisitions. Under supervision, you will prepare abstracts, notes, and conveyance documents and coordinate with attorneys.

The ideal candidate has five years of title searching experience or a bachelor's degree with one year of relevant work, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of professional experience in title searching or related conveyance work.
• Bachelor's degree plus one year of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of deeds, mortgages, and title documents; ability to analyze records.

Responsibilities

• Review title commitments and searches for encumbrances affecting parcels.
• Investigate ownership, jurisdiction, and boundaries; clarify issues.
• Prepare deeds and other conveyance instruments; assist with tax data at closing.
• Review title insurance endorsements and coordinate with title agents.
