Cobalt Recruitment is seeking an Analyst to join its Portfolio Management team in New York. This early-career role offers broad exposure across portfolio strategy, investment analysis, asset management, and transaction execution.

You will build and refine financial models, prepare portfolio reports, and analyze performance against budgets and forecasts, while supporting investment decisions and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or Accounting or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in real estate, investment banking, private equity, FP&A, or similar analytical role.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain portfolio and fund-level financial models.
• Prepare portfolio reporting, performance analysis, and presentation materials.
• Analyze portfolio performance, including actual vs. budget, forecasts, and key operating trends.
• Evaluate portfolio composition, financing and capital structure, and potential exit opportunities.
• Partner with Asset Management, Acquisitions, and FP&A to support investment decision-making.
• Assist with portfolio reviews, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Support acquisition, financing, and other transaction execution.
• Identify asset and portfolio-level opportunities to improve financial performance.
• Help develop scalable reporting and analytical processes using technology and BI tools.
