Job summary

Parker Poe is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal based in our Raleigh, North Carolina office. You will support our Real Estate and Commercial Development practice group, assisting attorneys on a range of commercial real estate matters and development projects.

The role is non-exempt and reports to the Office Administrator and assigned attorneys. Typical schedule is 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours/week) with occasional overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of paralegal experience in a law firm or legal department.
• Experience supporting transactional real estate.
• Experience using a legal time and billing system.
• Proactive and self-motivated with ability to work independently.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, prepare, and organize closing documents.
• Prepare closing statements.
• Review and plot legal descriptions.
• Prepare and file UCC financing statements and amendments.
• Organize and coordinate document signing.
• Prepare closing binders.
• Acquire maps or drawings from surveyor/assessor’s office or title companies.
• Research restrictions limiting property use.
• Conduct title examinations.
• Prepare reports for title commitments, title insurance and transfers.
• Search title and records for private transactions and ownership history.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by Office Administrator and attorneys.
