Anywhere Real Estate Inc. is seeking an experienced Litigation Counsel to join our Real Brokerage Litigation Team, supporting Compass and sister brands.

This attorney will manage a diverse real estate brokerage litigation docket and protect the company’s interests across multiple brands. The role requires strong courtroom skills, sound judgment, the ability to work independently, and collaboration with business partners while supervising outside counsel.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial litigation experience.
• Ability to independently litigate civil matters.
• Some real estate brokerage experience preferred.
• Some in-house legal department experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bar Admission: California.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of real estate brokerage litigation from inception through trial or settlement.
• Litigate a personal docket of civil litigation matters and supervise outside counsel on selected matters.
• Prepare and defend company witnesses at deposition and depose adverse parties.
• Draft, argue, and respond to motions, pleadings, and briefs.
• Conduct legal research on complex issues and develop strategic recommendations.
• Represent the company in court hearings, arbitrations, mediations, trials and regulatory proceedings.
• Manage a docket of cases outside of CA handled by outside counsel.
